I have been seeing B Corp with companies when on linkedin. For example Ecologi its company page title as “Ecologi | B Corp”. I wanted to know more about it.
On the B Lab site I found all the details. There is a lot of background information. I think the next step for a company interested in getting certified would be to review the programs and tools. I am curious to know the level of effort to pursue the certification. A next step might be to look for companies or individuals who have gone through the process and providing some coaching and advice or direct help. That will likely be the next curiosity to find out.
Another curiosity is if there are other certificates to do in parallel or first or identify a prioritisation criteria. Riverford Organic Farmers for example has a number of initiatives in their footer.
Yes, I am one of those people who look at footers. I read most documents backwards as well. Books I tend to read through and skip the forewords and maybe the introductions. I also don’t like to watch trailers of movies. Related to the prior footer point? Questionable.
Another standard you can look at is https://leaf.eco/leafmarque
“ LEAF Marque is an environmental assurance system recognising more sustainably farmed products and is based on the sustainable farming principles of Integrated Farm Management (IFM).”
https://plana.earth/ has a net zero suite as well.
